App Privacy Policy
FASTerWay NEXT Mobile App Privacy Policy
1. Scope of This Policy
This is a standalone Privacy Policy for the FASTerWay mobile app ("the App") on iOS and Android, describing how Tress Marketing Solutions, LLC, d/b/a FASTerWay ("FASTerWay," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information through the App. It is distinct from, and does not modify, our website and payments privacy policy at fasterwaytofatloss.com/privacy-policy, which separately continues to govern our websites and billing.
The FASTerWay App provides fitness and nutrition coaching for general wellness purposes. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional. It does not diagnose or treat any medical condition.
Your access to the App is provisioned through your FASTerWay membership or coaching program — accounts are created and managed on our side once you enroll, and you set your password the first time you sign in. The App does not offer open self-registration.
2. Information We Collect
- Account & profile information. Your email address, name, coach assignment, and program/membership status, managed through our systems and used to sign you in via Auth0.
- Nutrition & food-logging data. Food and meal entries you log by text, voice, barcode scan, or photo, and the macro/nutrient data calculated from them.
- Food photos. Photos you take to log a meal. These are used only to identify what you ate and are never shown to other users or your coach as an image.
- Community content. If you use the Workout Community feed, the posts, comments, and profile photo you choose to share are visible to other members of the community.
- Health & fitness data (Apple Health). Step data from Apple Health, only if you choose to connect it. You control this connection in the App and in iOS Settings at any time.
- Health information you tell us about. During onboarding, we may ask whether you have certain health conditions so your coach and our nutrition tools can tailor recommendations to you. This is used for coaching personalization only — FASTerWay NEXT does not use this information to diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice, and it is not shared for advertising purposes.
- Conversational AI data (Lumi). The messages, voice input, and photos you share with Lumi, our in-app AI coach, along with the app context needed to answer you (such as your recent food log).
- Usage & diagnostic data. In-app analytics events (such as feature usage) that help us improve the App. We do not use Google Analytics or Firebase Analytics, and we do not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers.
- Device permissions. Camera and photo library access (to log food or post to Community), microphone access (for voice logging, if used), notification permission, and local network access (to discover AirPlay/Chromecast devices for casting — no workout video or audio is sent to FASTerWay through this feature).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to: provide and personalize the App's core features (food logging, macro tracking, coaching); operate Lumi and respond to your questions; connect you with your coach and reflect your program's content; maintain the security and reliability of the App; and improve our features based on aggregate usage patterns. All of this is in service of coaching and general wellness — not medical care. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health or fitness data for advertising or data-mining purposes.
4. How We Use AI
Lumi, the App's AI coach, is powered by a third-party large language model provider. When you message Lumi or share a food photo or voice note with it, that content — along with the app context needed to respond helpfully — is sent to that provider for processing. This provider does not use your data to train its AI models.
Food recognition and barcode lookups are handled by a separate food database provider. Behind the scenes, AI search infrastructure providers help Lumi search FASTerWay's own program and recipe content to ground its answers.
Responses generated by Lumi are positioned as AI-generated within the app.
Lumi provides general coaching and informational support only. It is not medical advice, it is not a substitute for a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you have a medical concern, please consult a qualified healthcare provider.
5. How We Share Information
We share information with the following categories of service providers, each acting on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
| Category | What they do | What we share with them |
|---|---|---|
| AI coaching provider | Powers Lumi: conversational coaching, nutrition Q&A, and food recognition from photos/voice you share with Lumi. Provider does not use your data to train its AI models. | Messages, photos, and voice you send to Lumi; relevant app context needed to answer (e.g., your recent food log). |
| Food database provider | Food database lookup, AI food recognition, and barcode lookup used to log meals. | Food descriptions, meal photos, and barcodes you submit when logging food. |
| AI search infrastructure providers | Helps Lumi search FASTerWay's program and recipe content to ground its answers. | Search text derived from your questions to Lumi; does not receive your broader profile. |
| Authentication providers | Sign-in and identity verification. | Email address, authentication tokens, role/access data. |
| Cloud hosting provider | Hosts our servers, database, and photo storage. | All data described in this policy, as our infrastructure provider. |
| Community platform provider | Powers the Workout Community feed (posts, comments, profile photos). | Content you choose to post publicly to the Community feed. |
| Error monitoring provider | Backend error monitoring to keep the app reliable. | Technical error/crash data; message content and request bodies are stripped before sending. |
| Analytics and performance monitoring provider | Helps us understand how the App is used and keep it running reliably. | Usage and performance data. |
| Customer relationship management provider | Determines your program, coach, and access status. | Your program/membership status, coach assignment, and contact information. |
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share your health or fitness data with anyone for advertising purposes. Unlike our websites, the App does not share your information with advertising networks such as Facebook or Pinterest, and the App does not use advertising SDKs or advertising identifiers. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of FASTerWay or our users, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your information.
6. Your Choices & Controls
- AI features. Lumi's responses are generated using the third-party AI providers described in Sections 4 and 5 above.
- Health data. Connect or disconnect Apple Health at any time in the App or iOS Settings.
- Camera, photo library, and microphone. Managed through your device's OS-level permission settings.
- Notifications. Opt in or out of push notifications in Settings (feature rolling out post-pilot).
- Casting. Casting only discovers devices on your local network to display your workout on a screen; declining or ignoring the prompt has no effect on any other feature.
7. Account Access & Deletion
Your account is created and access is managed by FASTerWay when you enroll in a program or coaching relationship, typically through our customer relationship system; you activate it by setting a password the first time you sign in. Because the App does not offer self-service account creation, account deletion is handled through our support team.
To request deletion of your account or personal data, contact [email protected]. We will confirm receipt of your request within 10 business days. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, as described to you at the time.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Privacy Rights
California and other U.S. states. If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights that may include the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you; request access to or a copy of that information; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain legal and operational exceptions); opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information (such as health information you share with us) to what is necessary to provide the App's services.
As described in Section 5 above, the App does not sell your personal information and does not share it with advertising networks. You will not be denied services or otherwise discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
If we deny your request in whole or in part, you have the right to appeal that decision. Instructions for appealing will be included in our response to your request.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls limiting who can view your data, and separate handling for sensitive content such as food photos (stored privately) versus content you choose to share publicly (Community posts). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" above reflects the last revision.
12. Contact Us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to Tress Marketing Solutions, LLC, d/b/a FASTerWay, at [email protected] or by phone at 727-677-9003.
